The Lion King production is fast approaching.
The performances will be taking place from Tuesday, June 4th to Friday, June 6th.
To accommodate for the performances, the entire East Gym will be set-up for the 3 days.
As a result, we will be doing “picnic lunch” outside, weather permitting.
If there is inclement weather, alternate arrangements will be made for students.

The Bake Sale is an integral part of Essex-Hawthorne’s Spring Fling, coming very soon on Friday May 31st (3:30 – 7:30 pm).
We’re asking, please, for yummy, baked-good donations (sweet and/or savoury), but most importantly NUT FREE.
And if you’re not into baking or pushed for time, please bring store-bought goodies, as long as they are nut free (and better still, made in a nut free facility).
A sign-up sheet is on the Essex notice board in the main foyer.
Please drop off baked goods on the day of Spring Fling at the Essex office or bring them directly to the Bake Sale table at the event.

Thanks to everyone at both schools and in the community who donated unused textiles to Bag2School. We ended up having more donations than could fit in our little room, and also more than we could fit on the truck! Special thanks to Tracey, Ben, Nathan, and Alexander for helping us get everything loaded on.
Our total donation was 540 kilograms of clothing, which raised $108 for Essex. And if you have any leftovers that you didn’t get a chance to donate, stay tuned for another collection in the fall!
Attention all families and friends of Essex and Hawthorne students:
The whole school has started to prepare for our upcoming Lion King Jr. show. It’s a full musical and every student in the building (Essex and Hawthorne) will have a part to play in the performance. There are three nights of performances. Tickets will go on sale in the middle of May for $5 each to help us cover the cost of rentals and rights for the production.
