Roofing Project Advisement UPDATE

June 24, 2014

Re: Roofing Project Advisement

Parents and Guardians,

The second section of roof of your child’s school will be replaced commencing Wednesday June 25th and will continue for approximately one month.

The roofing project needs to be undertaken during daylight in good weather, in order to ensure both worker safety and proper roof application.

Commencement of work may be impacted by weather conditions. Once started, every good daylight work hour will be used until completion of the project in approximately four weeks.

The roofing process could cause uncomfortable unpleasant odours on Thursday or Friday, which may enter the building. Wind direction, humidity, the shape and setting of the school makes it difficult to predict the extent of fume penetration into the building. All windows and air handling units will remain closed during the time of the repair.

Alternate accommodation arrangements will be made for students and staff in the event that fumes cause a problem.

Please report to me your health and safety concerns related to this work so that alternate arrangements may be made in the event asphalt fumes, odours or volatile organic compounds (VOC) become an issue.

If you require any further information, please feel free to contact me.

Yours truly,

Jim Stathopoulos
Principal
