Peer Leaders Programme

Dear Parents of grade 7 and 8 students:

We are excited to announce the continuation of last year’s Peer Leaders Programme with Harbord C.I.  Abby and Allegra, two grade 12 students, and some grade 9 students, will come to Essex for 5 exciting lunchtime sessions to prepare students for high school life.  The topics this year are: high school life, equity, bullying, leadership and privilege.  At the end, the grade 7 and 8s will go to Harbord C.I. for the day, as well as have a buddy day here at Essex.  This could be a very beneficial programme if your son/daughter is already thinking about the transition to high school.

If you’d like your grade 7 or 8 to sign up, they should give their names to their homeroom teacher no later than next Friday November 20^th.  The classes will be held once a month at lunchtime.  If you’d like more information please contact leslie.tumangday@tdsb.on.ca
