Essex/Hawthorne Spring Fling Sponsorship Opportunity – Extended Deadline

Attention Essex and Hawthorne Parents

Do you own your own business and want to show your support for your child’s school? Does the company you work for want to connect with over 500 local families? This year, Essex and Hawthorne Parent councils are selling sponsorships to help pay for one of Spring Fling’s main attractions – the inflatable activities and games.

Each school has 4 sponsorships of $500 each to sell until May 2nd, after which time any unsold sponsorships will be available on a first-come first-served basis to local businesses. A sponsorship will be considered complete upon receipt of the $500 donation.

In recognition of your generous support your company’s name will appear on a sign at the entrance to one of the 8 inflatables. Sponsors names will also appear on the promotional poster, to be distributed to over 500 families, and on the map which will be given to all Spring Fling attendees. Spring Fling 2016 will be held on Friday June 3 from 3:30-7:30pm.

The funds we raise at this school-wide event will be used to purchase much-needed sports equipment for the Phys. Ed. Department such as soccer balls, hockey sticks & nets, badminton and track & field equipment. Funds raised will also support improvements to our school’s library.

If you are interested in sponsoring the 2016 Essex/Hawthorne Spring Fling, or if you have any questions, please contact Jean Hammond at parentcouncil@essexpublicschool.com.

Blog and Website Volunteer Needed

Essex is in need of parent volunteer to look after maintaining and posting items on our school blog.  If you have some familiarity with WordPress and MailChimp and are able to dedicate about thirty minutes a week of your time, please contact Jack Phillips.  It’s a great way to give back to our school.

Thanks,

Jim

We are thrilled to welcome Talli Osborne (https://talliosborne.com/me/), inspirational speaker, to Hawthorne on April 19 for a free family event to celebrate Inclusion!  Everyone is welcome! The evening will be kicked off at 5:00 p.m. with a  Global potluck. Bring an appetizer, main course, dessert or drink that is special to your family! Let’s cut down on waste so please bring your own reusable plates, cultery and cups. Take part in a community art project and tell us what Inclusion means to you! Talli will be speaking at 6:30pm about ‘Inclusion for Everyone’, anti-bullying and her personal experiences as someone who was born missing her arms and bones in her legs. An evening not to be missed!

Be Cool. Be Awesome. Be a Parent Volunteer.

Volunteers ROCK. The more the merrier! Come bring your awesome self (and a friend, if you want it to be extra fun) and help us make the event a success. Contact Irene at toyenakamura@hotmail.com if you can rock any of the below roles:
