Progress Report Cards

The Progress Report cards will be sent home today, Tuesday, November 14.

The Parent-Teacher interviews will take place as follows:

• Thursday, November 16th in the evening from 4:00 – 7:30p.; and,
• Friday, November 17th in the morning until 12:00 noon.

Friday is professional development day for staff.
As a result, there is no school for students.

Fresh From the Farm Produce Pickup Nov 15

Pick up your order of Fresh From the Farm produce on Wednesday November 15 after school, between 3 and 6 p.m.

Location: under the overhang behind the school.

Orders not picked up will not be held. Carpooling and use of wagons or bike trailers for pickup is encouraged!

BAG2SCHOOL Clothing Drive Nov 16-20

REMINDER: BAG2SCHOOL Clothing Drive is coming November 16th-20th

Remember to bring your unwanted clothing, footwear, linen, bags and textiles to your parent-teacher interviews this week. Items will be collected starting Thursday Nov. 16th- Monday Nov. 20th. All bags can be dropped off on the First Floor in the Essex Primary Hallway (Guidance Room). Look for signs to guide you from the front foyer.

Fresh From the Farm Update

We are thrilled to announce our delivery date for Fresh From the Farm Fundraiser, Wednesday Nov. 15th

Thanks for making this fundraiser and food drive such a huge success!! 
 
We are looking for volunteers on harvest day…
There are 3 shifts 8 am-11:30 am, 11:30 am–2:30 pm, 2:30 pm-7 pm 
 
We are going to have a blast receiving and processing the delivery!
Please consider helping out for a few hours throughout the day.
 
Look forward to hearing about your availability.

Bag2School: Clothing Donation Drive

Did you know that the average North American discards over 65 pounds of clothing and textiles each year? Extending the average life of clothes by just 3 months of active use would lead to a 5-10% reduction in each of their carbon, water and waste footprints.  That is why we are pleased to announce that Essex-Hawthorne has teamed up with Bag2School for our next fundraiser.  Bag2School is a textile recycling company that takes back unwanted, wearable and unwearable textiles to be reused or refurbished into new textiles and materials. Monies raised will go toward new books for the Early Reading Club.
By getting involved in our Bag2School collection, you have an opportunity to sort through your closets and donate unwanted textiles including clean adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, handbags, drapes, linens and soft toys. Don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to give you their unwanted clothes as well!

Bag2School donations can be dropped off at school in garbage bags between Thursday Nov. 16th and Monday Nov. 20th.  The drop off spot will be the small “Guidance Room” in the Essex Primary hallway (look for signs in the front foyer to guide you there). Please note, no donations will be accepted after November 20th.
