Essex Parent Council Updates – November

Hello Parents and Caregiver,

  1. Free Parent Workshops – Kindly Complete Survey

We are asking all parents/caregivers to kindly complete the survey below to let us know which workshops you would be interested in attending this school year.  Our big hits last year were “Home Alone” and “Kids Have Stress Too”.  Please complete by Wednesday, Nov. 23. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Z62C3TP

  1. “Fresh from the Farm Fundraiser” Pick-Up Date: Wednesday, Nov. 23

Families who ordered Veggie or Apple Bundles are reminded to mark their calendars for our Nov. 23 pick up date.  Parent volunteers will set up outside under the north overhang of Essex PS, facing Garnet Ave from 2:30 pm-6:30 pm.  All orders not picked up on this date, will be donated to a local Food Bank the following day.

  1. Parent Council Meeting: Wednesday, Nov. 23 @ 6:30pm

We are warmly inviting everyone to attend our next Parent Council meeting on Nov. 23 at 6:30 pm in the school library, 2nd floor.  Please come to share your voice, concerns and have your questions answered.  Hope to see you there!

  1. Book Sale in School Lobby

Gently used children and adult books are now on sale in the school lobby, in front of the main office.  We are asking for a $1 donation for each book.  Money raised will help enrich our children’s learning experience at Essex PS.

  1. Book Club for Essex Grown-Ups

As part of our Health and Well-Being Committee, Milisa has announced our next book, The Dolphin Way:  A Parent’s Guide to Raising Healthy, Happy and Motivated Kids Without Turning into a Tiger by Shimi Kang, MD.  Please join us for an engaging conversation about the book on Jan. 25 @ 6:00 pm in the library.
