TranslateThe Essex-Hawthorne community has reached our original goal of raising over $27,000 to sponsor a Syrian refugee family! Thank you so much to everyone who pledged their support. Given the generosity and commitment we have seen, we have decided to push on and see if we can reach a new goal of $35,000 by December 14. This will allow us to sponsor a family of 6 people, as opposed to the original 4 we had envisioned. This means we get to help more people.
Any donation is appreciated and will help us reach our new goal. By the end of the week we should have an on-line registry through the Mennonite Central Committee where people can pay their donation directly AND receive a charitable receipt. In the meantime, keep on pledging so we know where we are at and we can keep you in the loop.
