International Languages Integrated Day Program

Message from Superintendent Uton Robinson

This past spring, it was decided that the International Languages Integrated Day Program would be cancelled as part of the budget consultations. This past fall, surveys were conducted in all our schools that previously had the Integrated Day Program. We had some positive feedback resulting in some schools being able to offer some after school programs.

At this time, we are exploring the possibility of offering Saturday morning International Languages Elementary classes at Dovercourt PS to meet the needs of families in this area of the city.

Parents and guardians are asked to read the attached information letters.

Le Marché d’Hiver December 5th: craft or baking vendors still wanted

Hope to see you at Le Marché d’Hiver Thursday December 5th | 5-8 pm | in the east gym

We are still looking for vendors for Le Marché d’Hiver. Do you bake, knit, or make crafts? Why not get busy, make things as a family, and set up a table at Le Marché?

Keep it simple or make it sassy! You do not need to be an established business or have any prior sales experience. In fact, extended family are welcome to vend as well.
Got a crafty grandma/grandpa, aunt/uncle, sister of brother? Why not encourage them to join and make some extra money! So far we have 9 vendors. We were hoping for at least 6 more. We would prefer to keep it simple and not open the vendor option to outside businesses beyond extended family and close friends. To vend at Le Marché please contact Cyndi cynduck@gmail.com by Friday Nov 29th.

OPAL Outdoor Clothing Lending Library Now Open!

Thank you to all parents who donated gently used outdoor gear to our OPAL Lending Library.  We now have a selection of coats, rain pants, snow pants, mittens, hats, boots and scarves for children to borrow when their clothes are forgotten, lost or wet.  We hope this resource will help all students and families feel enthusiastic about one of our OPAL beliefs, “We play in all weather!” or alternatively, “There is no bad weather, just bad clothing”.
The kindergarten teachers will have items to lend in their classrooms, for Gr. 1-6 students the OPAL Library is set up on the third floor across from the elevator.  Thank you again for your help in making this happen.
Sincerely,
The OPAL Committee
